In accordance with all state laws and regulations, fishing is permitted on streams, the Blair, (at Malakoff Diggins SHP) and South Yuba River. Before the construction of dams, and the impacts associated with gold mining, the South Yuba was an abundant fishery. Habitat degradation has reduced the river’s productivity, and conditions have changed to favor non-game fish species. In addition, fish consumption advisories have been posted for the South Yuba River.
